Caloosa Lake Carbon Forest
Location: Florida,
USA
The Caloosa Lake
Carbon Forest is located near Caloosa Lake in central Florida and
encompasses approximately 2,200
acres to date.
It is currently our largest contiguous privately owned land
reforestation project.
It currently has
natural growth stands of long leaf pines, bald cypress, live oaks,
turkey oaks, water oaks and bay trees.
It is in habited by American
bald
eagles, sandhill cranes, wood storks, scrub jays, Eastern blue birds,
gopher tortoise, white tail deer, coyotes, bobcats, American alligator,
otter, wild Osceola turkeys, black indigo snakes, Eastern diamondback
rattlesnakes and Florida panther to mention only a few species.

One of its interesting features
is the rookery of Wood Storks, a bird species currently in risk in the
State of Florida.
Reforestation is currently underway with native trees currently growing
on the land.
